INITIATIVES WE LOVE
Each day, through innovative partnerships, concrete initiatives and our sharing of best practices — both inside our malls and throughout their local ecosystems — we strive to live up to our commitments to sustainability and innovation. With one simple promise: to take action in the community.
Metro co-organizer of popular local annual Mylder Festival
The Mylder festival is the children's very own colorful cultural festival with entertainment, various activities, food, and lots of other exciting things. Being a partner in the festival and other local events for the people in Lørenskog is dear to both Metro and Steen & Strøm.
The Mylder festival is the children’s very own colorful cultural festival with entertainment, various activities, food, and lots of other exciting things. Here, children get to experience different forms of culture and they get to explore, discover, and try things out on their very own. Famous characters and super-talented children from local music and theatre groups took to the stage and the audience sang and danced along! The festival is free of charge and organized by Metro, Lørenskog Hus, Lørenskog Municipality and local teams and associations, and took place at Festplassen just outside Lørenskog Hus and Metro. The brave puppies from Paw Patrol, the troll girl Fjon from SNØ and Nedre Romerike’s fire and rescue service with their well-known teddy bear Bjørnis came to visit.
In the big activity zone outside Metro and Lørenskog hus, you could try out many exciting and fun activities. Local teams, clubs and associations have exciting booths in the big event zone, Festplassen, where there were great opportunities to try out hobby activities, games, and various sports. When hunger struck, there was a good selection of food and drink both inside Metro and in food stands on Festplassen. Being a partner in the Mylder Festival and other local events for the local people in Lørenskog is dear to both Metro and Steen & Strøm.
