GREEN LIGHT FOR REFURBISHMENT AT ALLUM

Allum shopping center in Partille is set for a major interior renovation aimed at enhancing the customer experience. The refurbishment, approved internally and set to proceed with local contractor Bygg & Konsult, will be carried out in several stages and is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of this year.

I’m, along with the entire center management team, are thrilled about the upcoming interior refurbishment, which will significantly improve the customer journey. The renovation has been discussed on several occasions, and now that everything is in place and approved, we are ready to move forward together with Bygg & Konsult, says Albert Aguilar, Center Manager at Allum.

The refurbishment includes new ceilings with LED lighting, updated flooring, redesigned entrances, a new lighting and signage program, additional seating with charging stations, upgraded store fronts, restrooms, and event spaces. A new baby lounge will be introduced on the first floor, and playgrounds will be refreshed to enhance the experience for younger visitors.

Steen & Ström Sweden, the owner of Allum, has engaged Gothenburg-based Rstudio to develop a new interior design concept. The design aims to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, combining convenient shopping with inviting spaces for visitors to meet and connect.

Inspired by Allum’s local heritage, including Jonsered’s industries, the new design features warm tones of red and yellow reminiscent of traditional buildings, harmoniously paired with green hues representing the surrounding nature. Natural and sustainable materials, such as warm oak complemented by cooler stone elements and various textiles, will contribute to a cozy ambiance.

Philip Eliasson, CEO of Bygg & Konsult, adds: “We are proud to be part of Allum’s refurbishment. After working successfully with Steen & Ström’s team on several projects, we’re excited to carry out this larger transformation. Allum is truly the heart of Partille, and our team feels a great sense of pride in participating in this project”.

To strengthen Allum’s identity as a local destination, artworks by local artists will be integrated throughout the center. A large mural, in collaboration with a local artist, is planned for the main entrance, with additional artworks following a similar theme positioned across Allum.

Albert Aguilar invites local artists with experience in mural painting to get in touch to contribute to this transformative project.
