FIRST CUSTOMER ARRIVED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WHEN RUSTA OPENED IN METRO
Shopping Center Manager Christopher Castberg likes Rustas' concept and is he and his team within Steen & Strøm are delighted to welcome Rusta to Metro Senter and Lørenskog.
Store openings are the most fun there is, and I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such a crowd as when Rusta opened. The store attracted over 4,300 customers on the very first day, he says.
Ealy in the morning, Rusta Norway’s General Manager Erlend Kramer welcomed the queue of just over five hundred people to the opening of the two thousand square meter store.
We believe that the store in Lørenskog will be at the top of our fifty-two department stores in Norway. There are a lot of people living in the area and Metro Senter is easily accessible, so everything is in place for success, he said.
Christopher Castberg adds:
Rusta has been on the wish list of retailers that both we and our visitors have wanted to have in our retail mix, and it feels great to be able to fulfil these wishes and add Rusta to our previous range of retailers. Rusta’s establishment strengthens Metro’s profile as an everyday shopping destination even more.
In addition to opening a store in Metro, the Swedish discount chain has also relocated their Norwegian headquarters to Metro Senter.
We are incredibly happy with the decision to move, and after a couple of months in the new premises, things are really starting to come together. This is going to be great, concluded Erlend Kramer.
