CSR INITIATIVES

Each day, through innovative partnerships, concrete initiatives and our sharing of best practices — both inside our malls and throughout their local ecosystems — we strive to live up to our commitments to sustainability and innovation. With one simple promise: to take action in the community.

Strong local collaboration in the fight against involuntary loneliness among seniors

On Allum's initiative, the Seniorklubben pilot project was started a year ago. The idea of the Seniorklubben was to fight involuntary loneliness among senior people, which is a major problem not only in Partille but throughout society. Seniorklubben was organized in collaboration with Partille Municipality once a month in Allum.

“Seniorklubben is a very welcome initiative and collaboration that has brought joy and fellowship to many of our elderly citizens of Partille”, says Emma Johnsson, Development Manager in Partille Municipality.

Seniorklubben has now been further developed and the big change is that Allum now co- hosts each occasion with several different pensioners’ associations. During the autumn, associations within “Ett varmare Partille” will participate in the meetings, including various senior associations, faith communities, the Dementia Association of Partille, Hela människan, Mötesplats Kåsjögården, Lions club, etc. The organizations decide on the contents of the meetings individually. A total of six senior citizens’ associations are involved.

“This cooperation has been very successful, and Allum has truly become a meeting place for fellowship and pleasant interaction, not just commerce. This is something I am very happy about. Allum is a natural place to meet, and we have space for many visitors. This autumn, three meetings are planned and thanks to the cooperation with the local pensioners’ associations, we will reach out to many more seniors than earlier. Together we try to reduce involuntary loneliness in Partille and create pleasant gatherings, says Albert Aguilar, initiator, and Shopping Center Manager.
